GeekShed.Net IRC Network

When I attempt to connect from my laptop via mIRC to irc.geekshed.net (and other varianets like destiny.geekshed.net), I receive the same error: Unable to Connec to Server (connection refused.) I am also unable to connect via a web browser (IE 8.) I tried using a few different ports noted in other posts here.

I am able to connect using my desktop PC. Could my wireless router possibly be preventing the laptop from connecting? I use a wired connection to connect via my desktop. I appreciate any help.

This maybe due to your firewall,
Check your firewall, to see if the port is blocked, if it is,
make an exemption for port 6667
