GeekShed.Net IRC Network

I used to always be on the jupiterbroadcasting channel. I moved to a new house and then had to get comcast. I was able to log in for a few months and then all of a sudden any device or any client I try just sits at: Attempting to log into irc.geekshed.net:6667 and whatever IP it tries at that time.

Is there a thing with comcast or did my IP get the shaft or something?

oh, this is only happening with geekshed, FreeNode works.

Few months now and still cant log in. Same issue. Just won't connect to geekshed at all. Still guessing IP block.

We checked the IP you're using on the forums and it does not show up on any blacklist or G/Z/GZ:line stats reports.

Please verify your IP with us here so we have the correct one to check with. Also type out the exact error message you get while connecting.

Like originally, nothing from CC gets through. It sits just like this and says it failed and is retrying again.

Used to work great. I've tried a few different clients and don't remember seeing any error/trouble codes. Is there one you recommend I try to get more info or logs from to help solve this?

That is the IP we verified with all our systems. The error you're getting is unrelated to any control mechanisms on our side.

I see you're trying to connect using us.geekshed.net, tell your client to use irc.geekshed.net instead. Keep in mind that our round-robin was changed, see here for details: https://www.geekshed.net/2015/02/round- ... rovements/

Verify your firewall is not blocking the connection. Also if you're using anything like OpenDNS, it commonly blocks IRC connections because of a false positive attributed to botnets. If everything is clear on that end, try connecting on our website with the web interface: http://www.geekshed.net/chat/ - if that fails then it appears something on your end is blocking it. You can also try port 6697 which is standard SSL, that sometimes gets around filters and blocks.
